SENIOR PASTOR GIB BASKERVILLE  


GIB GREW UP HERE AT FBC VERNON.  HE RECEIVED A BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN FINANCE FROM MIDWESTERN STATE UNIVERSITY IN WICHITA FALLS, TX.  AFTER SPENDING 13 YEARS IN THE BANKING INDUSTRY, GIB FOLLOWED A CALL FROM GOD INTO FULL-TIME MINISTRY.  HE ORIGINALLY CAME ON STAFF AT FBC AS ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF EDUCATION AND NOW SERVES AS SENIOR PASTOR.  GIB IS CURRENTLY FINISHING HIS MASTER'S DEGREE FROM SOUTHWESTERN BAPTIST THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY IN FT. WORTH.  GIB'S WIFE, WILAINIA, IS A SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST AND SPECIALIZES IN WORKING WITH YOUNG CHILDREN IN OUR AREA.

ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF WORSHIP GREG TANNER



Greg Tanner, our associate pastor of worship has been at FBC Vernon since 1984. Greg and his wife, Nina, have one daughter, Bobbi Kim, who lives in Oklahoma with her family. Originally from Illinois, Greg graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, TN with a Bachelor of Arts in church music and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Church Music.


Associate Pastor Doug Patterson


Doug graduated from Vernon High School in 1998, and he received his Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies II (emphasizing in Spanish and Physical Education) from McMurry University in 2002.  The LORD called Doug into ministry after fourteen years of teaching/coaching, and he now serves as Associate Pastor.  Doug’s wife, Kelly, is a teacher/coach at Vernon I.S.D., and they have two daughters, Praylee and Macelyn.   


Secretary Sandra Goodrum

Sandra has worked at FBC for 20 years! She is very loved and appreciated for all of her hard work, we actually call her the "glue" that sticks it all together. She was born and raised in Vernon her whole life. She has been married to Henery Goodrum for 40 years and is blessed to have two beautiful daughters, Stephanie and Melanie and three precious grandchildren, Quentin, Kyla and Ryson. Her hobbies include reading, bowling, and spending time with her grand kids. Her favorite Scripture is Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I Am God".

Outreach Minister Donovan Wilkinson

Donovan is a father of three children, the son of Brandon and Jennifer Wilkinson-Brumley and, by God's will, a student/disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. He has been a member of FBC since January of 2014. He started working at the Church in October of 2014 as the Facility Director of Maintenance and Upkeep. In October of 2015 he was blessed with an Intern position under Pastor Gib where he focuses on  outreach, and in September of 2016 he was licensed for Gospel Ministry. He was born and raised in Vernon his whole life, graduated from Vernon High School, and feels called to minister to Vernon and it's surrounding areas. His hobbies include sports, ping-pong, board games, video games, and exercising. His favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5,6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

Educational Secretary Carol Mcnair


Carol has worked at FBC Vernon for six years. She and her family have been members of FBC Vernon since 1986! Carol has been married to her husband Mark for 31 years. They have two children and one very precious little granddaughter Berkley Grace. Dakota is her oldest and is married to Addisyn; they are Berkley’s parents. Sheridyn is the baby of the family and goes to Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, TX. She is pursuing a medical career, has been a HSU cheerleader for the past 4 years, and has been a member of the HSU 6 White Horses for 2 years. Carol’s hobbies include spending as much time as possible with Miss Berkley, gardening, decorating her home, and antique shopping. Carol is the happiest when she’s spending time with her familyHer favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
